About the Kansas Motorcycle Museum

The Kansas Motorcycle Museum sits at 120 N Washington Street in downtown Marquette — a few doors up from Kitchen 64. Inside you'll find more than 100 vintage and rare motorcycles, gathered as a tribute to Marquette's own racing legend, five-time national champion Stan "the Man" Engdahl.

The collection includes 600-plus trophies and Engdahl's custom-built Harley-Davidson racer, alongside makes and models spanning decades of motorcycling history. For a town of around 600 people, it's a genuinely unexpected, first-class collection — one of the reasons Marquette bills itself as the place where "mushrooms, motorcycles and murals unite."

Where to eat: Kitchen 64, on the same block

Because Kitchen 64 is on the same downtown block as the museum, you can park once and do both on foot. We're a family-run kitchen serving a small, made-from-scratch menu that changes with the seasons — hearty, familiar comfort food like pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, fresh salads, and house-made desserts.

Other honest options in and near Marquette

We think we're the best sit-down meal in town, but we'll be straight with you: Marquette is small. For a sweet treat or a soda-fountain stop, City Sundries on Washington Street is a downtown fixture. Planning your visit around our hours

Kitchen 64 keeps a rotating weekend schedule, so a little planning helps. We're open Friday 4–9pm, Saturday 11am–6pm, and Sunday 11am–3pm, and closed Monday through Thursday.

• Saturday is the easiest day to pair with a museum visit — both are open midday.
• Sunday lunch works well if you get to town before mid-afternoon.
• Friday is dinner-only for us (from 4pm), which suits an afternoon at the museum followed by supper.

Prefer to eat on the go? We do takeout — just give us a call during open hours. Prices run about $10–$20 per person, and we accept cards.

Rally weekends: Thunder on the Smoky

Once a year, downtown Marquette fills up with bikes for Thunder on the Smoky, a motorcycle rally centered on the museum that started back in 2004 and has grown into one of the region's popular riding events.
